About the practice

A small practice, run by someone who does the work

GTSR Solutions is a senior-led architecture and delivery practice in Western Australia. It is deliberately small: the person who scopes your work is the person who designs it, and the person who answers when you call.

Who makes the decisions

Every engagement is led by the director, who has worked in software since 2010 — first as an engineer, then as a lead, and for the past several years as a solution and enterprise architect. Sixteen years is long enough to have inherited other people’s systems repeatedly, which is the experience that shapes how anything here gets built.

There is no account manager, no junior bench and no handover to a delivery team after the sale. If the work needs more hands than one person has, additional people are brought in under the same architecture and the same review — and you are told that is happening rather than discovering it later.

Where the experience comes from

The background is enterprise: banking and financial services, insurance, government, energy markets, higher education and mining. Large systems, long lifespans, real audit and compliance obligations, and the kind of structural decision that is found three years later by somebody else.

Those were roles held with other organisations rather than clients of this company, so they are described by sector rather than by name. What carries across is the method, not the logo — the same frameworks large organisations pay a great deal for, applied at a size that makes sense for a business of five to two hundred people.

Why a small business gets an enterprise architect

Most of what goes wrong for a small business online is not a technology problem. It is a decision that was never made — who owns the domain, what happens when the person who set it up leaves, whether the backups have ever been restored. Those are architecture questions, and they are the same questions asked of a bank, only smaller.

The practice exists because that work is normally either unavailable at this end of the market or sold as a commodity website with none of it done. Charging for it honestly, and writing down what was decided, is the whole offer.
